EricPlautz:  Eric Plautz is the Emergency Planning, Business Continuity Manager for the Metropolitan Utilities District. He joined the company in June of 2017 after working as the Emergency Preparedness Manager for the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station (OPPD) since early 2012. Eric holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration and a M.S. in Leadership from Bellevue University. Eric’s previous experience includes being the Assistant Director at Douglas County Emergency Management Agency, Director of Emergency Services for the Lancaster County Red Cross and an Exercise Training Officer for the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency. Eric is a veteran of the United States Army with seven years active duty. Outside of MUD, Eric enjoys golfing, spending time with family, and taking advantage of his private pilot license.

Kim Barbaria:  Born and raised in Bellevue as a military brat, Kim attended Bellevue East and graduated from UNO in 2007. She worked in the family auto business and eventually moved to insurance. After working the retail part of the industry she moved to National Indemnity (NICO) and its sister company Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Company (BHHC) in 2007. Even with over 20 years in the Insurance and Financial Services Industry, Kim is still a relative newbie in the growing field of Business Continuity. She has worked in numerous business units within the Company and that includes BCDR for the last 4 ½ years. Her introduction to this exciting field came when the Company wanted to stand up an official program. Kim was brought on as an analyst and quickly took ownership of the day to day running and development of the program. In 2019 she obtained her CBCP from DRII and in 2020 joined the board of GPCP as member at large. The last year has shown the best of what Kim and her team (all GPCP members) built and planned for with 90%+ of the Company working from home. As 2021 moves along she is planning for the return to office as well as new areas for BCDR development in the future. She is married to Jack, who has worked at PayPal for 18 years, and they have 3 semi-independent cats. Kim loves to bake, spend time with family, and hopefully soon travel and even later, go on cruises.
